I have been playing now for about 16 weeks. They only problem I have had is I get very deep string grooves on the tips of my fingers --
is this normal? I do have thick skin on the tips so it dose not hurt, I spend about 2 hrs a day playing
Just started useing the idiots rock songs book & D/L the songs to my Sandisc plug that into one Amp & play my Fender useing
the line 6 Amp lots of fun but I can only play the Rhythm part & keeping the beat useing power cords.
Still have lots to learn & have learned alot

Yes this is normal. Your finger tips will always be tough. But heck, they will rock!

you can go down a string gauge. new strings won't hurt as bad, and lighter strings are easier to play. also, you should make sure you're not pushing down any harder than you need to.
