Would anyone like to offer some suggestions on how to strum "Folsom Prison" and maybe some easy fills to spice it up a little? I'm playing it "E"-"A"-"B7". I'm trying to do an alternating bass note strum like I learned from the "Margaritaville" lesson, but I don't want it to sound like "Margaritaville". I'd like it to be more country-bluesy if you know what I mean.
Wes Inman has a terrific lesson/tab on the easy song data base:

Give it a whirl, It really helped me with the walking bass between chord changes

Thanks, that looks great. It's what I was looking for. I'm going to give it a go tonight.
if you can play that great tune in E more power to you.
the original is in F. harder to play but sounds better.
Im a stickler when it comes to playing that song. it's my favorite and Ive been playing it for many years.

So you play it in E, A and B7 but with a capo on the first fret...
Peace
My sentiments exactly! No offence intended but Wes' lesson was a very good one. I am sure Johnny would approve.

Would someone like to put up an MP3 for me to listen to? I have no trouble playing muted, but on my accoustic it sounds less than impressive when I play an entire song that way
