I have a bad habit I need help with:

When I work from the bass strings up to the treble strings on electric, the bass strings will still vibrate unless I press my palm lightly on the strings, or tap the ringing bass strings with my thumb to shut them up.

Another case would be when I bend an 8 to a 10 on the high E, the g will ring because the once 8 has the pitch of 10 while bent and the sting is closser to the g, it kisses it, thus a ring is noticable as if i plucked the g string, unless muffled carefully with palm. If I'm to bend and move fast, I don't see how my thumb would be able to muffle ringing notes, unless I become a guitar god.

I don't know if this will help you but I found that if I deliberatly slow down the playing and play the part over and over until I get it how I want it, I will then gradually pick up the pace.

Make no mistake, those tricks you are trying to play are talent hogs. Gotta keep practicing, IMHO.
