My high E string has a rather distinct twangy tone to it that I am not used to hearing in other guitars. I am not sure if it is strung to tight, or if I am picking it in a bad way. But if anybody has a remedy for this please let me know.

I am addicted to the guitar, just like I am addicted to air and water.

cobra. brand new strings have a brighter sound to them than older grunged up strings.

a twang for me is a positive type of tone, but it sounds like it bothers you. did you hange gauge (thickness)of he strings? is the high E the only string you changed.? if that is so then for sure it will sound different and pronounced.

if you have tuned to pitch and that high E is in relative tuning to the other strings then you didnt tighten it too much.
play it for a while. maybe it will settle in.

The last time I changed them I changed all of them. So I play on them a little longer and see if I can't smooth the sound out. Thanks...

Cobra, I know what you mean. The high E on my Yamaha acoustic has always sounded a bit "tinny" to me no matter what type (brand or gauge) I put on it. It's not a high dollar guitar so I figure that maybe it's just the tone of the guitar. Maybe some day I'll find the strings I looking (or listening) for. I got my eye on a nice Martin, though (lol).
