hi
i have seen a lot o things over bending. It says use 3 fingers but i really don know wat they mean.Is it like sliding with 3 fingers to a fret and coming back.Or what?Is it similar to playin vibrato?I also wish to know what is the technique behind the long sustained high pitch tones (out of an electric guitar , like in voodoo chile by hendrix)I have some reason to believe that all the above are related to bending.Well lets see...

As an example, if you wanted to bend the high E string, you'd play your note and while still fretting the note push the string up towards the B string.

your physically bending the string up or down (vertically) to raise the pitch of a note. You can add vibrato to the end of a bend to get that singing tone you describe.
For voodoo chile, its lots of bending w/ vibrato and feedback from the amps creating that great sustain.
I've been imitated so well I've heard people copy my mistakes.
