Also, try this website:

It has heaps of guitar backing tracks for loads of popular songs, which will help with your soloing/improvisation. In particular, if you're looking for some good bluesy stuff, get some of the BB King tracks, and maybe some cream etc
Hope that helps

TMaris, you just beat me to it.
this is a pretty good site. I found plenty of twelve bar there.
Allman Brothers' 'Stormy Monday' is a very good slow tempo 12 bar.
for example.

What was the guitar store chain with the "King of the Blues" contest last year? Guitar Center, maybe? They had a bunch of killer blues backing tracks available online. Wonder if they're still up? (I downloaded them all.)

all i'm after is just the bog standard 12 bar blues, nothing else on there, a llot of the tracks i've found do loads of different licks on there to but thats what i want to do.

The book "Blues by the Bar" has a CD w/ 6 straight 12 bar blues backing tracks in different keys (G, A, E).
For books, I like Blues You Can Use. Been a while since I picked it up, but I believe it has a backing track for each excercise and a track that shows you what it should sound like.
It's a dry heat!
Blues You Can Use is a great book, but it doesn't have empty backing tracks. I wondered why they didn't at least pan the guitar to one side so you could practice without hearing the guitar.
i got it from justin guitar web site. thanks all. :D

That's fantastic! :D Plenty of variation in those, including some nice fast paced tracks for Chuck Berry type playing. :) Some good original stuff there too to satisfy the OP's needs as well.
