Trying to get an idea into what a good practice routine is...this is what I "try" to do...
Sight reading
Fingerboard memorizing/theory
Scales
Cords and cord progressions
Strumming/rythm practice
Lesson from a book or computer program
Fingerpicking from a book
free play...
I do each for 10 minutes or longer. Not always easy to do each every time...depends on mood. Whats everyone else do?
I may grow old, but I'll never grow up.
Sounds kind of like a school lesson plan, but whatever I'm still learning, (after a year) I think your on the right track, but what've I learn is that if you exhaust yourself by playing for hours, you not going to learn anything, it's best to take a break between hours.
I just practise what I know for as long as I can, I don't really have a routine or anything I'll just pick up my electric guitar and practise some chords, other times I'll sit down and read some theory learn some new chords/scales and sometimes I'll do my computer program (have you heard of guitropolis and its componit?)
Depends on my mood too.
oh and not to sound rude but it's guitar chord! :)
