Band On The Run - Wings.

One of McCartney's best, if not THE best, post-Beatle songs, it's hard to believe sometimes
that this classic is over 30 years old....(sighs nostalgically for lost
youth.....)

This isn't perfect (The intro, for example, I think is done with double-
stops and part chords, and I've tried, where possible, to replace the
synthesizer with guitar) by any means, but it'll get you in the ballpark,
and with two guitars, sounds pretty good in the pub....

You only need four chords for this section, D, Dmaj7, G6 & G....

line, you've already played it in the intro....

Ok, the next bit is a study in partial chords, but you do
need a couple of quick changes.....there are a couple of pull-offs
on the Am chord....

Well done Vic,

This one takes me back. Loved the Band On The Run album. Taped it onto cassette and played it to death on a mono tape recorder sited under the passenger seat in my first car (a rusting 1960 Mini) way back in 1974. The cassette player was nicked in a car park. I recorded it again and Rodders lent me his tape recorder and that was nicked a week later in the same car park. Why didn't they steal the car too? Memories eh!

Strangely never have got around to replacing the album with a CD copy.

I'm gonna have to get good playing this, its a major piece of work you've done here Vic. Before I've even tried it out I'll give you 10 out 10 mate.

Good to have ya back Vic, this is the kind of thing i was missing.
will add this to my tabs folder straight away.
Yes this one brings back memories, junior high school age for me.

We had a lady bus driver that had an 8 track player installed on her bus, complete with speakers all the way in the back. she would play this tape, and Ringo, even some pink floyd if she was in the mood. those were great times.... :wink:

Oh and Lars, the arm seems fine, thanks....been playing virtually non-stop since the plaster came off, almost back to normal....the only thing I seem to have have lost is my five-fret stretch playing a blues shuffle or 12-bar blues....hoping I'll get that back in time....

Vic, as we say here in the states: you frickin' rule, man!

I was just searching tabs on the net for a good rendition of this classic WITH a nice arrangement for the intros! This really gives me something to work on.
