Brass in Pocket acoustic version
The Pretenders
This is such a great song.... however I don´t think I can explain the stumming pattern in words or diagrams. Unless anyone else can, the best thing to do is listen to the song (which is the acoustic version) and just copy!!! It´s really easy, I guarentee it

Great post Zep! Welcome to the ESD. I look forward to seeing more posts like this from you  If you have a 2nd guitar player, or wish simply to alternate a different voicing, try this:
A: 0076500
Asus2: 0076000
Asus4: 0077650
Simply a matter of raising/replacing the index finger and pinky. Sounds cool with either voicing, and really cool with both!
Again, good job. This is one of my favorite songs. See ya' around the forum!

should help with the strumming part.
Great song , thanks for posting.
Best,

I love this song, and have wanted to learn it! I'll definitely be giving this a try.
Thx!

When my mind is free, you know a melody can move me
And when I'm feelin' blue, the guitar's comin' through to soothe me ~
Thanks for the alternate (A's) Shrug, I'll be sure to give those a try!!!
I was really surprised that this song wasn't already posted up here.
Hasta luego

Yeah, my 7-string sounds great but the bar chords are tough!! :D Yikes! My bad!! The correct voicing is:
A: x07650
Asus2: x07600
Asus4: x07750
BTW, it's amazing how many great songs use different strumming patterns of these chords to produce a memorable sound: Brass in Pocket, Needles and Pins, Feel A Whole Lot Better (Byrds), etc.
Thanks Ballybiker for the friendly "heads-up".
