Another thread in a far away topic. Someone mentions the Kinks, and I am reminded of Celluloid Heroes. I do a search and find a lot of nastiness in the form of incompleted chord stuff. I cleaned up the best of the worst, and here it is.

Please, feel free to comment, modify and above all, strum patterns. I can't hear them very well on the recording.

{Verse}
(D)Everybody's a (A)dreamer and (G)everybody's a (D)star
And (F#m)everybody's in (Bm)movies, it doesn't (G)matter who you (A)are
There are (Bm)starts in every (F#m)city
In every (G)house and on every (A)street
And if you (C)walk down Hollywood (G)Boulevard
Their names are written (A)in conc(D)rete

{Verse}
(D)Don't step on Greta (A)Garbo as you (G)walk down the Boule(D)vard
She (F#m)looks so weak and (Bm)fragile that's (G)why she tried to be so (A)hard
But they (Bm)turned her into a (F#m)princess
And they (G)sat her on a (A)throne
But she (C)turned her back (G)on stardom
Because she wanted to (A)be al(D)one

{Refrain}
You can (C)see all the stars as you (G)walk down Hollywood (D)Boulevard
(C)Some that you recognize, (G)some that you've hardly even (D)heard of
(C)People who worked and (G)suffered and struggled for (D)fame
(C)Some who succeeded and (G)some who suffered in (D)vain

{Verse}
(D)Rudolph Valentino (A)looks very much (G)alive (D)
And (F#m)he looks up ladies (Bm)dresses as they (G)sadly pass him (A)by
Avoid (Bm)stepping on Bela (F#m)Lugosi
'Cause he's (G)liable to turn and (A)bite
But stand (C)close by (G)Bette Davis
Because hers was such a (A)lonely (D)life

{Refrain}

{Verse}
(D)If you covered (A)him with garbage, (G)George Sanders (D)would still have style
And (F#m)if you stamped on (Bm)Mickey Rooney (G)He would still turn round and (A)smile
But (BM)please don't tread on dearest (F#m)Marilyn
'Cause she's (G)not very (A)tough
She should (C)have been (G)made of iron or steel
But she was only made of (A)flesh and (D)blood

{Refrain}

{Verse}
(D)Everybody's a (A)dreamer and (G)everybody's a (D)star
And (F#m)everybody's in (Bm)show biz, it doesn't (G)matter who you (A)are
And those (Bm)who are suc(F#m)cessful
Be always (G)on your guard (A)
Success walks (C)hand in hand with (G)failure
Along Hollywood (A)Boulevard (D)

{Refrain}

La la la la....
La la la la....
La la la la....

I wish (C)my life was (G)non-stop Hollywood (D)movie show
(C)A fantasy world of (G)celluloid villains and (D)heroes
(C)Because celluloid heroes (G)never feel any (D)pain
(C)And celluloid heroes (G)never really (D)die

{Out Verse}
(D)Oh, celluloid heroes (A) never feel any (G)pain (D)
Oh, (F#m)celluloid (Bm)heroes (G)never really (A)die
I wish (Bm)my life was non-stop (F#m)Hollywood movie show
A fantasy (G)world of celluloid villains and (A)heroes
Because (C)celluloid heroes never feel any (G)pain
And celluloid heroes (A) never really (D)die

Nice one. Ray Davies was in NYC this week. Unfortunately I couldn't catch the show. The review in the paper said it was good, he's put a bit of a blues spin on his songs. I believe he did Celluloid Heros.

Well I got this guitar and I'm tryin' to learn how to make it talk.

Thanks rparker, I just wandered in here hoping for something like this :)

Anyone have a good strum pattern? :D

PS
If Vic would just do Come Dancing I'd be set until dhadge gets around to A Sunny Afternoon. The internet tab is deplorable :roll:
