Here's a very easy song to play from Led Zep's IV album, Four Sticks. Here is a band covering the song on YouTube (tried to find Led Zep but couldn't), but they do a pretty great job.

This song really only has 3 or 4 parts, all super easy to play. First the main riff:

quarter bend
e------------------------------
b------------------------------
g------------------------------ Repeat over and over
d----------------5^------------
a---4i--5i--7r---0-------------
e---0---0---0------------------

One of the coolest riffs ever with an Eastern drone on the open strings. Listen to the recording to get the quarter bend sound just right. I personally pull down on the string, but you could push up as well.

Then it simply plays a A5 and G5 chord. Let the G note slide off.

A5 G5
e------------------------
b------------------------
g---2-------0------------
d---2-------0------------
a---0-------X------------
e-----------3-----------

Then comes the Bridge (I think) or whatever you call it. This is very beautiful and a super simple technique Jimmy Page uses a lot. He simply moves a form up and down the neck while playing open strings. Again, the open strings create an Eastern drone type sound. Beautiful and easy to play too. The fingerings are just suggestions, do whatever is easiest for yourself.

e---0-----0----0----0----0------
b---0-----0----0----0----0------
g---6i----4i---6----7i---9i-----
d---7m----5m---7----9r---11r----
a---0-----0----0----0----0------
e-------------------------------

e---0-----0----0----0----0------
b---0-----0----0----0----0------
g---6i----7i---4i---2i---0------
d---7m----9r---5m---4r---2i-----
a---0-----0----0----0----0------
e-------------------------------

Not really sure what the names of these chords are, didn't feel like looking them up. :D

Then there is one last section with the same chord forms, but played in a different rhythm and order. Listen to the recording.

e---0---0---0---0---0---0---0---0---0--
b---0---0---0---0---0---0---0---0---0--
g---4---2---0---2---4---6---7---9---11-
d---5---4---2---4---5---7---9---11--13-
a---0---0---0---0---0---0---0---0---0--
e--------------------------------------

e---0---0---0---0---0---0---0---0---
b---0---0---0---0---0---0---0---0---
g---4---2---0---2---4---6---7---9---
d---5---4---2---4---5---7---9---11--
a---0---0---0---0---0---0---0---0---
e-----------------------------------

That's it, really very easy although you will have to count out how many times that 1st riff is played for yourself. :D

Hope you enjoy it.

Very nicely done Wes, thanks a bunch! This one wasn't in my repertoire, but it will be now. 8)

I love the Eastern drone sound of this song that Jimmy used alot too! 8)

Now to find a drummer who can play with four sticks... hey Bish!
