George Harrison - Any Road

OK I finally managed to work this out....the bridge was a real SOB, but here it is....

Intro - George plays this on ukulele I think, but this is close enough for the pub/ESD...

D G A

E 10 7 9
D 7 8 10
G 7 7 9
A 0 0

D/G/D/A/D/A/D
D/G/D/A/D/A/D

Oh (D)I've been travelling on a (G)boat and a (D)plane,
On a (A)bus on a (D)bike, in a (A)car and a (D)train,
Traveling there and (G)travelling (D)here,
(A)Every(D)where in (A)every (D)gear,

But (G)oh (D)Lord we (A)pay the (D)price,
With a (C)spin of a (G)wheel, with a roll of a (A)dice,
G)Ah (D)yeah you (A)pay your (D)fare,
And if you (F)don't know where you're go(C)ing,
Any (G)road'll take you there(D)

D/G/D/A/D/A/D
D/G/D/A/D/A/D

And I've been traveling through the (G)dirt and the (D)grime,
From the (A)past to the (D)future, through the (A)space and the (D)time,
Traveling deep be(G)neath the (D)waves,in (A)watery (D)grottoes and (A)mountainous (D)caves,

But (G)oh, (D)Lord we've (A)got to (D)fight,
With the (C)thoughts in the (G)head with the dark and the (A)light,
(G)No (D)use to (A)stop and (D)stare,
And if you (F)don't know where you're go(C)ing,
Any (G)road'll take you (D)there.

D/G/D/A/D/A/D
D/G/D/A/D/A/D

(Bm)You may not know where you came from,
(A)May not (G)know who you (D)are,
(Em)May not (F#m)even (Bm)have wondered,
(A)how you (E)got this (A)far,

D/G/D/A/D/A/D
D/G/D/A/D/A/D

Well I've been traveling on a (G)wing and a (D)prayer,
By the (A)skin of my (D)teeth, by the (A)breadth of a (D)hair,
Travelling where the (G)four winds (D)blow,
With the (A)sun on my (D)face, in the (A)ice and the (D)snow,

But (G)oo-(D)wee, (A)it's a (D)game,
Some(C)times you're (G)cool, sometimes you're (A)lame,
(G)Ah (D)yeah, (A)it's some(D)where,
And if you (F)don't know where you're go(C)ing,
Any (G)road'll take you (D)there.

But (G)oh (D)Lord we (A)pay the (D)price,
With a (C)spin of a (G)wheel, with a roll of a (A)dice,
G)Ah (D)yeah you (A)pay your (D)fare,
And if you (F)don't know where you're go(C)ing,
Any (G)road'll take you there(D)

Well I keep traveling a(G)round the (D)bend,
There was (A)no be(D)ginning, there (A)is no (D)end,
It wasn't born and it (G)never (D)dies,
There (A)are no (D)edges, there (A)are no (D)sides,

(G)Oh (D)yeah, you (A)just don't (D)win,
It's (C)so far (G)out, the way out is (A)in,
(G)Bow to (D)God, and (A)call him (D)Sir,
But if you (F)don't know where you're go(C)ing,
Any (G)road'll take you (D)there.....
And if you (F)don't know where you're go(C)ing,
Any (G)road'll take you (D)there.....
If you (F)don't know where you're go(C)ing,
Any (G)road'll take you (D)there.....

D/G/D/A/D/A/D
D/G/D/A/D/A/D

I actually had a lot of fun working this out, the bridge was a real challenge...
Well no I'm lying, it was a pain in the you-know-what...but I promised....

I'll try and tab the slide solos in a couple of days or so, if I get time....
Promise!!!!!

I AM SOOOO far behind on promises....I told Klim I'd scan the sheet music to Country Honk by the Stones months ago, only just got the bloody thing working,,,,but I never forget, I'll do it this week...promise....

Addendum....got out of a car in Texas, slightly twisted my knee...was a bit sore, but thought nothing of it....turns out I've ruptured a cruciate ligament....need op, and thanks to our wonderful National Health Service, the earliest I can get into hospital to have the op done is early November....unless my GP is very, very persuasive.....and can get me an earlier date.....hell, 30 years of playing cricket, all the punishment my legs took, pounding up and down off a 20-yard run....never missed a game through being injured, and to do something stupid like that....ah well, thank the lord Marilyn never took her crutches back to the hospital....I'm going to need them...

More to follow...

Well done Vic, nice easy one really, aint it!
Sorry to hear about the knee but old age doesn't come on its own, as this will show...

THE DIFFERENCE 30 YEARS MAKES!!!!!!!!!

1973: Long hair
2003: Longing for hair

1973: Acid rock
2003: Acid reflux

1973: Moving to Bournemouth because it's cool
2003: Moving to Bournemouth because it's warm

1973: Trying to look like Liz Taylor
2003: Trying NOT to look like Liz Taylor

1973: Grass
2003: Roughage

1973: Going to a new, hip joint
2003: Receiving a new hip joint

1973: Rolling Stones
2003: Kidney Stones

1973: Passing the drivers' test
2003: Passing the vision test

Just in case you weren't feeling too old today, this will certainly change things.

The people who are starting university in February across the nation were born in 1987.

They are too young to remember the space shuttle blowing up.

Their lifetime has always included AIDS.

Bottle caps have always been screw off and plastic.

The CD was introduced the year before they were born.

They have always had an answering machine.

They have always had Cable or Sky and the internet .

They cannot fathom not having a remote control.

Popcorn has always been cooked in the microwave.
They do not care who shot J. R. and have no idea who J. R. even is.

They don't have a clue how to use a typewriter or a rotary dial phone.

Do you feel old yet?

LMAO....thank you for reminding me how old I am....

1973, listening to Slade on the Jukebox....
2005, wishing the Slayer would come and visit the jukebox....axes optional, a small tactical nuke would do....well it would on the JB in my local....

October 25th last year was te last time I had it cut....an old friend's funeral....but I have never ever gone a full year before without so much as a trim....

Let's see if I can resist the pressure for another 72 days....if my maths is correct....

Hi Black Zero,

I might be able to help here,

This is Give Me Love just straight chords. Maybe Vic or Rodders can add the slide solo's cause their cleverer than me

Hope it helps, best regards

Chris

Give Me Love

Give me (G)love, give me love, give me (AM7)peace on (D7)earth

give me (Cm)light, give me (D7)life, keep me (F)free from (C)birth.

Give me (G)hope, help me cope with this (Am7)heavy (D7)load

trying (Cm)to touch and (D7)reach you with (F)heart and (C)soul.

(G)Om (G)m (G7)m my (C)lord.

(G)Please (G) (G7) take hold of my (C)hand

that (A)I might (A7)under(D7)stand you.

Won't you please oh won't you.

Give me (G)love, give me love, give me (Am7)peace on (D7)earth

give me (Cm)light, give me (D7)life, keep me (F)free from (C)birth.

Give me (G)hope, help me cope with this (Am7)heavy (D7)load

trying (Cm)to touch and (D7)reach you with (F)heart and (C)soul...

Give me (G)love, give me love, give me (Am7)peace on (D7)earth

give me (Cm)light, give me (D7)life, keep me (F)free from (C)birth.

Give me (G)hope, help me cope with this (Am7)heavy (D7)load

trying to (Cm) touch and reach ... (D7) (G)------ fade out

Done deal Vic,

Yeah I'm back from Houston by the way. Trip was delayed till 3rd August. Huge city, very hot and humid, high 30's/low 40's. I was in the business district called Greens. Little did I realize it was about a 20 minute drive to downtown Houston. Didn't have any time to see any live music either. Just resturants, used car lots and filling stations, freeways, hotels and work. Apparently, I was told, all the music action is in the university area near downtown.

Cheers

Chris
