Ringo - It Don't Come Easy
This one's for Blind Lemon Pye, noticed the little quote at the bottom of his posts....
This was Ringo's first solo hit post-Beatles, he co-wrote it with George, who also played guitar.....

(D)It don't come (Am)easy,
You (C)know it (G)don't come (D)easy.......
(D)Got to pay your dues if you (Am)want to sing the blues,

You don't have to shout (Am)or leap about,
You can (C)even play them (D)easy,
For(F)get about the past and all your (G)sorrow,
The (F)future won't last,It will (A)soon be your tomorrow.....
I (D)don't ask for much,
I (Am)only want trust,
And you (C)know it don't come (D)easy,
And this love of mine keeps (Am)growing all the time,
And you (C)know it just ain't (D)easy.....
(F)Open up your heart,
Let's come to(G)gether,
(F)Use a little luck,
And we will (A)make it work out better.......

(F)Please remember peace is how we (G)make it,
(F)Here within your reach,
If you're (A)big enough to take it.....
I (D)don't ask for much,
I (Am)only want trust,
And you (C)know it don't come (D)easy,
And this love of mine keeps (Am)growing all the time,
And you (C)know it don't come (D)easy.....
Repeat intro riff.....
"Sometimes the beauty of music can help us all find strength to deal with all the curves life can throw us." (D. Hodge.)
You beat me to this one Vic, I had thought about posting it a month ago.
Great song!
Wes
If you know something better than Rock and Roll, I'd like to hear it - Jerry Lee Lewis
It's fun playing that opening riff.
One question - should that second F in the ninth line (right before "sorrow") be a G?
Blame it on the lies that killed us, blame it on the truth that ran us down.
Yes it should, funny I thought I'd edited that......done it now, thanks for pointing it out.........
"Sometimes the beauty of music can help us all find strength to deal with all the curves life can throw us." (D. Hodge.)
Oh thanks, Vic! :D
That's funny but I never tried to play this song. I must have shied away from it. Now I don't have any excuse!
I'm a little bit far from my guitar these days (some guests at home, who need to be taken care of - but that's nice too, I'm not complaining). I hope I'll be able to try this song during the week-end and I'll let you know how it went.
If I'm not in the band
Don't mean I'm square
Mercury Rev - Car Wash Air
Had a quick go at this one last night. really easy, and I enjoyed being Ringo and George (Well I can dream can't I?)
Thanks Vic
Chris
The guitar is all right John but you'll never make a living out of it! (John Lennon's Aunt Mimi)
Thanks for another one I can try to toy around with this weekend.
Great tune.
Any chance you got some ZZ Top tabs coming?
I never seem to find any good ones and some seem like they should be easy but I can't get them down....
