Here is a very easy song that sounds great on acoustic or electric. Great practice for palm muting.

Here is the song on YouTube.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jnj9pthKmMk

I have left out the intro on the recording with piano and lead guitar. This is the rhythm guitar as it comes in after the feedback on the recording.

Chords used in this song:

Em G D B A

e--0---3---2---------------
b--0---0---3---4---2-------
g--0---0---2---4---2-------
d--2---0---0---4---2-------
a--2---2-------2---0-------
e--0---3-------------------

And here is one time through a verse with chorus:

Em G D Em p.m.

e--0--------3-----2-----0-------------------------
b--0--------0-----3-----0-------------------------
g--0--------0-----2-----0------------------------- 1st time only

e--------------------------0--0--0--0--0--0--0--0-
1 & 2 & 3 & 4 & 1 & 2 & 3 & 4 &

And here are the lyrics. I have showed where the B Major chord comes in (B).

In the shuffling madess
Of the locomotive breath
Runs the all-time loser
(B)Headlong to his death
He feels the piston scraping
Steam breaking on his brow

Chorus

Old charlie stole the handle and the train won't stop going
No way to slow down

He sees his children jumping
Off at the stations one by one
His woman and his best friend
(B)In bed and having fun
He's crawling down the corridor
On his hands and knees

Chorus

Old charlie stole the handle and the train won't stop going
No way to slow down

Solos

He hears the silence howling
Catches angels as they fall
And the all-time winner
(B)Has got him by the balls
He picks up Gideons Bible
Open at page one

Chorus

Old charlie stole the handle and the train won't stop going
No way to slow down

No way to slow down
No way to slow down
No way to slow down

Hope you enjoy

I've always intended to say thanks for this one. You posted it on the day I bought my Godin LG with SD humbuckers. What a great riff for test driving that beefy middle, dual humbucker position. Thanks!

Thanks, glad you enjoyed it. I will try to post a clip of the song in the next week, I think that makes learning a song even easier.

Thanks again,

Wes

Thanks Wes. The printout from Chordie.com that I've been using looks the same as yours. I'll try your modified B to play it, for motivation you understand, and keep practicing it the right way until I get it.

G W Roach (Don't BUG me while I'm practicing!)
