MAN ON THE MOON by REM

Right here goes my offering for today, this song is relatively easy even if you are a comparitive newbee, and don't be put off by the strange chord name of Dadd4/add2 - this is just a regular C chord slip up 2 frets as the first diagram shows below. Note the timing changes, for most of the song you hold for 4 beats a bar and strum D DU UDU (or at least that's what i do) but for the chorus you only hold for only 2 beats a chord - listen to the record if you don't understand what I mean. By the way if the quick Bm is proving tricky I suggest David Hodge's little easy version of XX0432 as this is quite easy to play. This is a great song for acoustic guitar and most people know it - so their singing may drown out any duff notes anyway. Strum it freely with feeling - as with all songs!

Here goes -

Nice song Mattguitar. I used to play this years ago. I'll have to re-learn it.
I love this song.

Thanks for the tab!

I love this song, but perhaps someone can help clear a couple of things up.....

1) who's Andy Kaufmann and what is he famous for?
2) ditto Fred Blassie.....

I do know a little about Mott the Hoople, but the above persons are - I think, totally unknown this side of the pond.......they are to me anyway!!!

Fred Blassie - found this on the web: was an American professional wrestler and 1994 WWF Hall of Fame inductee who was born in St. Louis, Missouri. He was the greatest wrestling villain of all time. Based on his success, Blassie was brought back to Los Angeles, California by promoter Jules Strongbow.

Andy Kaufmann - tortured comic. Rent the move Man on the Moon - its all about him.

Incidentally, when i posted this the chord changes were in the right place. Now they have all shuffled together. Apologies to anyone that this has confused, but how do I avoid this in future?

Please let me know

Thanks

Matt

Use the ['code][/'code] tags. (without the ' obviously).

And thanks for this one, I love this song. 8)
