heres a song... played on uke......used on several movie soundtracks....and its easy to play and sounds ok on acoustic guitar
i'm sure you've all heard it done by a huge hawaiian guy.....check the vid link first then have a go....
it sounds ok in open chords as a song....generally each chord plays two beats...you can straight strum or arpeggio...play strum/mute or bass note/strum... have some fun with it...above all else enjoy it...SIMPLE D/duud strum works ok
you can mess with the capo too.....again just try it
you'll soon gather its a touching song, mixing 'somewhere over the rainbow' with 'wonderful world'.....both feel good songs
even easier for beginners...play the F as an Fmaj7...still sounds ok and no barre!
ENJOY  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=brRsRTTp1Pw C C Em Em F F C C

Cant wait to get home and watch the vid. I am no good at reading it and figuring out how it sounds. Cute, happy lyrics though. heh

Thats terrific Ballybiker,
I've been fooling around with the Clapton version of this ( on "One More Car One More Rider" cd ) for some time now. It has a different chord structure to this one, with many awkward chords, I think I may be able to combine the best of both.
The intro to the Clapton version has a lovely intro using 4 chords E - C#7add9 - F#m7 - B7add9 which you can play as many times as you like for as long an intro as you want and then you get the first line of the song which is sung over E C#m7 G#m7 Ebm7 E7.
Sounds really nice but hey so does this!!!!
See Eric Clapton version here
Thanks again,
Be excellent to each other & party on dudes!

Israel Kamakawiwo`ole. What a soft voice for such a huge man. Died in 1997.
Nice one Ballybiker. :D What a voice...
I've seen another TAB of it that was done by Lisa Frankel, which has some additional details. She gives a strumming pattern, some chords for the intro and outro and also says to put a capo on the 5th fret for a closer match to the Uke sound. (Unfortunately, she wasn't able to suggest where I should attach a capo in order to make my voice sound more like Israel K's... ..)
Her suggested chords are not quite the same as above, but are also very easy.
The words are better laid out in the one posted above, so I took a little from both. :)
Cheers,
Chris
