I realize that this is nearly a year old, with no replies, so odds are this is futile. But, would anyone care to elaborate on a suitable strumming pattern while playing the chords? I can't pick out anything from listening to the song, as I can only hear the bass and guitar during the sections with the chords, and I'm having a hard time putting together something that sounds decent.

And if you could pull that rope just a little higher, we could dangle alone like a firefly.

I'd just use a straight down-down up, down-down up. Try it and see, and get back to me if you don't like it. (If you do, I'd like to know, but you may be too busy playing it! :p)

Take care,

Casey

Great song. I used to listen to Smokey all day in high school. Good strummer for playing and singing at the same time.

It seems to have a little more of swing feel.
