See below. My wife bought me one of these instead. Should I stick with it, or exchange it for the Fish and Chips?

I currently don't juse any pedals. I'm thinking about getting my first and thought this might be a good choice. I would like something into solo mode. I was contemplating a volume pedal, but thought something like this would geve me more versatility?

So, is this a good choise for a first pedal? Or would you recommend something else?

Thanks for your input.

Jim

I just picked one up a couple of weeks ago, and I love it! 8)

You can dial in some really good tones, and even set it to boost the level a bit for solos.

I like Danelectro kit, I have the FAB Metal, Overdrive and Flange pedals, and the Beyond Metal distortion pedal. It's stonkingly well priced too.

Best,

Not one negative comment? Fella's, I think I'm sold!

I've had mine for 2 weeks or so. Haven't played it much tho. It does improve the tone when used along with my EVJ. I havent mixed it with my other pedals yet, so I can't write about that.

Funny thing happened tonight. I was watching a fight on TV and piddling with my EQ and figured that I would look inside. And what do you know, they gave me a battery with my pedal haha. If your a dummy like me and haven't checked inside your Dano EQ then maybe you should look inside for your free gift today.

Yep, and you need to change it when it runs out too

My local guitar shop has started stocking a multi-outlet power block for pedals - I shall be visiting him after Xmas.

I've got 4 pedals (apart from a Cry-Baby Wah and a tape echo unit) - all of which are Danelectro: Surf'n'Turf Compressor, Milkshake Chorus, F'n'C EQ and a Daddy-O OD pedal. The last 3 were all bought off EBay at excellent prices.

I started with nothing - and I've still got most of it left.

Greybeard, check into the 1 Spot adapter, it is very inexpensive, with what they call a "daisy chain" will power multiple pedals (total output is 1700 mA) Works well for me, I have 5 pedals and it was recommended by Wes Inman and Mikespe. I have noticed others on the forum using it as well. It is made by Virtual Sound. They have a dealer locator on there site and I was able to buy in a nearby city.

Robbie, I've seen the 1Spot, but it is far more expensive, in Europe, than in the States. The one the local store carries is around the same price and I can buy locally, rather than have to add another €5 for postage.

The Dano EQ works very well with my EVH :D I suggest the 1 spot also (Dano pedals hog up batteries fast) The 1 spot also has a Adapter for my cry baby wah. :D

Greybeard: Ibanez has a similar thing that will allow you to power up five pedals IIRC with one adapter. It was about E15, doubt it's that much more expensive in Germany.

Or maybe a Boss EQ pedal?

It turns out that my wife bought me one of these instead of the Fish & Chips.

Should I take it back and exchange it? I don't want to spend money just for the sake of spending money. Would I be that much happier (or at all) with the Boss?

Soundwise there is preciously little difference between the Boss I owned and the Behringer I now own. However, the Boss is much more sturdier and might very well outlive three Behringer units, making it cheaper in the long run. Which one you'll need might depend on how you handle your gear and what your plans are. It is, in any situation, a great pedal.

Finally got a chance to play with my new Boss GE-1 EQ. I absolutely love it. It is exatly what I had hoped for and more. I was afraid it would effect my tone ... well it has... It's better! I part of me still feels like I (my wife) payed $70 too much for it, but I'm afraid to exchange it when I'm already very happy with it. It seems very durable, so maybe it will last a lifetime.

Happy Holidays everyone!
