I'm trying to download and set up x-edit for the first time since getting my RP355, and it looks like the drivers installed okay, but when I go to open x-edit, it says:
Quote:

X-Edit was unable to locate a device. This may happen for the following reasons:

- The device is not connected to your computer
- X-Edit is already running (try opening presets from within the application)
- Another application is already using the device's MIDI ports
- The USB MIDI drivers have not been properly installed

I'll admit I'm not too computer-swift, but I tried looking up how to troubleshoot these things, but come up with zilch on the Digitech website. Any help please?

Ok, let's try the basic things first.

1) is the RP355 turned on?

2) is the USB cable plugged into both the computer and the RP355?
- if you have it turned on and then plug the USB cable in you should briefly see "USB IN" on the LED display

3) do you have the right version of system software on the RP355?
- it requires version 1.3 or later (1.4 is the newest)
- the RP355 will tell you the version when you turn it on

4) bring it up in this order
a) power on the RP355
b) plug in the USB cable
c) start X-Edit

5) I assume that you have a WinPC since you mention the USB audio drivers - have you tried reinstalling those from the Win CDs/DVDs that came with your computer or an OS upgrade you purchased? I can't be of much help here since I'm pretty much a Mac and Unix guy.
