Hi, I just received a used Ibanez Tube Screamer in the mail today. However, it does not work. Put in new battery, plugged in and nothing. Light goes on when presing the button to turn on but no sound on or off. Anyone run in to this?

I have to ask some questions and they will probably be dumb as you probably checked them out.
is the output knob turned up?
is the input, your guitar turned up?
are both cords working?
change the battery again.
that is about it. if it does not work still then something inside is not working; take it back.
I have used tubescreamers for years. they are not battery eaters. the only problem I have had is with the main stomp switch.
start there.
Thanks for the reply, yes i tried just about everything. I don't get sound with switch on or off but the light comes on when you push the button. Oh well!

that happened to me. 35$ for a new switch. one of the main flaws. but since the fix it has been running w/o troubles at all for six years. heavy ngigging too.
can you return yours?
I did get in contact with the seller to get my money back. The sellar claims he tested it but who knows. Maybe got bounced around in shipping.

The seller probably just pushed the button and seen the light come on.
