Hey All,

I blew out my first tube ever last night...It's funny how that happens going from bedroom practice levels to playing above a drum set.

Now I have a question for you all. I looked up what my amp uses - I love the sound and don't want to change it.

Crate Palomino v32 - groove tubes
• 4 - El-84 power tubes
• 3 - 12AX7A preamp tubes

I looked it up and it looks like I need a quartet of these

What's the difference between low, medium, and high rating?

As for the preamp tubes, I was thinking about getting these:

Any suggestions or advice? i guess i should mention that my amp is a pain to get the cage out of and such - so I just want to change all the tubes and keep the old ones in case of emergency

Thanks!

Great Jumpin' Horny Toads! Those Groove tubes are expensive!

The JJ's are a better tube at a far better price in my opinion. If you have any questions, email or call Bob. He'll be more than happy to help you select what will work best for you.

Playing guitar and never playing for others is like studying medicine and never working in a clinic.
