This has probably been discussed many times now, I just find it hard to use the search button on this site as it doesn't have many options to narrow stuff down.
But anyway, is there a wireless transmitter that I can hook from my guitar to my belt, or are these generally either expensive or a bad idea (quality wise)? I can see a lot of potential problems with a setup like this, but whenever I play, I'm walking around and once every 5-10 minutes I step on my cord and pull it out.

Sure, you can get such things, there are dozens to choose from. I think the cheapest starts with something like this. Next step up is this. From there prices go on up to well over $2000!
Practical wisdom would dictate that you look for a diversity system (a method for optimising the signal from the multiple antennae).
