You got it Boogie.

This one might be a bit tougher, but I won't lose any sleep over it. (that's a clue folks :) )
This song was the last original single the band released on I.R.S. Records (what a great label from the 80s!).
Sorry, Boogie, I'm totally drawing a blank....
:)
Don
I had a feeling this might be tough since it's all one note :D
A song title clue: When I toil at something repetitious, I sometimes need something rhythmic to accompany it.

BTW, the first clue in italics is a band name clue. The second clue, while hinting around the song, is also giving some hints about the band.
I had to work the clues for this one, Boogie, but I think I've got it. Here goes:
REM Finest Worksong?

Boxboy, You got it!
Cool! Great clues, btw. I was a while putting 'sleep' and REM together, but it gave me a chuckle when I did. :)
Does that riff open the song? I don't know the track, but found a tab where the opening is pretty atonal...so I took a guess.
A fun little riff popped into my head this morning. Just have to learn how to (kinda) play it!
I'll try to post by tomorrow.
:)
Don
Yeah, it does open the song and then big drums come in... a pretty rockin' track from R.E.M.
OK, after a solid 10 minutes of mucking around...here it is:

There's a different descending pattern going into the D chord, but I was too lazy to suss it out.
Like Purple's recent riff, you might not know the group or track name. Just say hey that's the song from:
...?
:)
Don
I've listened to it a couple of times today. No bells ringing :?, but the riff sure sticks in my head.
This is the theme song for a comedy troupe's long running (88 to 94) TV series.
The show aired on CBC in Canada and HBO in the US.
Recurring characters included Cabbage Head, The Chicken Lady and The Headcrusher. :)

Oh, and a reminder:
Just name the show. You don't have to name the band or track.
I kid you not. :)
Don
Okay... it is familiar after all. My kids watch reruns of that show. Not sure I'll be able to record anything tonight. A friend unexpectedly came into town and we are going out to dinner in a bit.
Anyway, it seems like the game has become the Boogie and Dan T. show. It might be nice to let someone else guess and play too. hint... hint... hint.
It sounds really familiar, I know it, but I just don't know it....
It's not easy being green.... good thing I'm purple.
