hello-
I'm working on ear training right now and i have probably invested a couple weeks into interval training. in an estimation, how long (say practicing 1 hour a day on ear training, 5x a week) would you be able to hear intervals with a high level of accuracy?
sorry for this type of question... it just seems like im getting nowhere with my studies.
Everyone's natural abilities vary a great deal, so there's really no standard to go against. Most people can identify octave intervals very quickly, and perfect fifths and fourths follow soon after... but identifying major and minor intervals correctly can take quite some time.
It all comes with practice, though, so just stay focused and don't worry about the rate of progress - it'll come.
