what i know about the major scale is that it sound happy ..but i found that the song shadow of the day is in the key of B major and its so sad .... :?: :?: :?: :!:

Because it's not in B major. That's the key signature, but any key signature will work for two keys, one major and one minor (called the relative minor key) - Shadow of the Day is in G#m.

And even if a song is in a major key, that's no guarantee that it will come out sounding happy. It's got more to do with lyrics, tempo, phrasing, etc.
Example: "You were always on my mind" - sad and major.
