Hi everyone.
I was reading a music theory book and it had something about Syncope and counter tempo, I understood the theoritical definitions but not practical.
So I ask if anyone can tell what they are in the term of guitar and bass and drum ...

thanx a lot

Syncope (cutting short) is rarely used in terms of music... the result, syncopation, is common. Take a basic count:

1 2 3 4
/ / / /

shorten every other beat (just to give one example), and you've got:

1 2 3 4
/ / / / /

Edit: I went to check the code and clicked submit by mistake - here's the second half

For a counter tempo, you need at least two instruments. If your bass player is going in 3/4, and you play in 2/4, you'll be accenting different beats:

B: 1-2-3-1-2-3
G: 1-2-1-2-1-2

sometimes your accents will coincide, sometimes you'll be accenting and the bass won't, sometimes the bass is accented and the guitar isn't, and sometimes neither will accent.
