Using modes and exotic scales

Sometimes the best way to get "comfortable" with an infrequently used scale, is to play the scale up and down, then go through the chord changes in a song written in that mode.

An example would be, play the Mixolydian mode up and down, then go through the chord changes for "Norwegian Wood"...it makes it all more logical.
