C#m7(b5) or C# half diminshed seventh chord naturally occurs on the 7th degree of the major scale and the 2nd degree of the natural minor scale.
A fully diminished seventh chord is not diatonic, and therefore will always be written with an accidental. They are great for switching keys because any one of the 4 chord members can function as the root with the quality remaining unchanged.
