Mr. Hodge,
This is another terrific lesson. The tune is interesting and challenging. You have shown that great lessons and tunes can be created without attracting the copyright police. It will take me a while to get the timing down but that makes it interesting.
A small glitch in the Entire Song, i.e., example 5, is that the third phrase is missing. I think the third phrase, i.e., example 4, would go just before the outro measures of the Entire Song.
Thanks
Hi Tarheel
And thanks for catching this! It seems I've not lost my touch for making at least one (relatively) major mistake per lesson! I'll rework up the example this weekend and hopefully Paul will be able to fix it all up by Monday or Tuesday.
Also we're hoping to have the next article in this series up by then - it's another blues piece but one that uses a constant single-note bass while the melody deals with swing eighths and triplets, much like the old-time single-guitar bluesmen from the 20's and 30's. Hope you'll like it.
And please, call me "David." Everyone else does.
Be seeing you around on the forums!
Peace
