So...
If your wondering what a newly unemployed college grad has been doing with his time, the answer is challenging himself in many different ways: physically (5 mile runs and 400 push ups a day), emotionally (watched the notebook 17 times... it's a tearjerker) Spiritually (I tried to give Scientology a chance... It's like reading the script for the new transformers movie but Shia would make this one better). Anyway, my challenge for this evening, other than eating a pint of chocolate fudge brownie ice cream and cheering for The Red Sox's David Ortiz :( (Which has been my hardest challenge yet with a batting average of .187), was to write a song in under an hour... so I busted out my Rhyming thesaurus and watched the notebook one more time as preparation and came up with this... a song about loyalty. Hope you guys like it and obviously your feedback is greatly appreciated considering this was done in "drum roll please" 27 minutes and 43 seconds. Clearly this is going to be a group project.

You said with fear
as you held back your tears
“I can't let you wait”
The snow came down
It was Whirling around
At the end of our last date

And there I was
Just one half "us"
With new determination
I've marked the days
I'm ready to wait
As you move across the nation

But Deirdre Dear
Can't you hear me?
Calling out your name
You may be gone
But I'll carry on
Saving a space... Next to me... Just for you

The days kept rolling
And I still use only
half this twin sized bed
And if I pray
Maybe some day
you Will come and rest your head

But Deirdre Dear
Can't you hear me?
Calling out your name
You may be gone
But I'll carry on
Saving a space... Next to me... just for you

And I sit home
Watching the phone
With thoughts of light brown curls
And I recall
That day in late fall
When I kissed my perfect girl

But Deirdre Dear
Can't you hear me?
Calling out your name
You may be gone
But I'll carry on
Saving a space... Next to me... just for you

I wanna say thanks for taking the time to read my post hopefully I made you laugh... maybe cry either way emotion is good right? anyway please give me your opinion because this is the roughest of the rough draft I ahve not checked anythings except for spelling.

Sincerely,

Chris "bored out of his mind" Lever
