Seems I haven't written anything for quite a while, apart from the odd SSG topic - and I've been setting those, and still can't think of anything to write! But....seems I need a kick up the backside to get me started every now and then...and then, inspiration sometimes comes from the unlikeliest places.
This is about someone who can do no wrong - totally perfect in every way. You may recognise said someone from this very forum....
Conceit.
Your arrogance knows no limits,
Your perfection knows no bounds,
Your megalomania's out of sight,
But your visions are unsound,
You see yourself as perfect,
Can't recognise your flaws,
You see yourself as untouchable,
But here's a thought to give you pause...
You're arrogant and conceited,
You think you're perfect in every way,
But if you're so wonderful,
Why do people stay away?
You don't know right from wrong,
Although you think you do,
Everything's perfect in your little world,
We should all bow down to you....
You've got a good command of words,
But don't know what you want to say,
Maybe you should leave your diatribes,
Till you're grown up some day?
You're arrogant and conceited,
You think you're perfect in every way,
But if you're so wonderful,
Why do people stay away?
When you look in the mirror, what do you see?
Perfection, not the slightest flaw, me, me, me, me, me,
You just don't care about anyone else, or what they have to say,
It's all immaterial, you're all that matters today...
Your words are so well-chosen,
From your dictionary,
But they mean nothing at all,
To ordin'ry folks like me....
Your think you're being gracious,
It's so nice of you to share,
Your vision of your perfect world,
But you know, we just don't care!
You're arrogant and conceited,
You think you're perfect in every way,
But if you're so wonderful,
Why do people stay away?
Oh, and unlike the person this song was written about, I CAN put this to music!

It's the rock that gives the stream its music . . . and the stream that gives the rock its roll.

I play the guitar, I taught myself how to play the guitar, which was a bad decision... because I didn't know how to play it, so I was a sh***y teacher. I would never have went to me. -Mitch Hedberg
