Sitting on the stairs
Its where I go to catch my thoughts
But I bet nobody cares
Coz they don't listen to me when I talk
Sitting on the wall
Watching the people like a silent hawk
They don't notice me
So I write my name in bright white chalk
And today I figured out that no one really knows me
When I asked you what you thought I'd be
It sounded so very unappealing
Yet probably right for me
Sitting at the table
Where everybody talks in rhymes
So I rehearse and wait for my turn
To stand up and say my line
And everyone loves me for it
As long as I get everything right
But when they all go back home
I return my former state of mind
And today I figured out that I'm not really like them
When you asked me what I thought I'd be
I sounded so disillusioned
And usually I don't care…..but it's not that easy
So I'm sitting in my room
Just to get away from everything
They don't even hear me
If I scream do you think that they'd come in
Lying on my bed
Thinking about you, beautiful
You know me the best
So please pick up your heart and give me a call
And today I figured out that I like to be alone with you
when you asked me if I feel the same way
i could just reach out and kiss you
The first verse and chorus are top class; the short line/ long line layout and the four rhymes really did it for me. I felt it tailed off in the last verse, but it's still very good.
