So Good For Me
(G)You coming (F)into my (C)life when (F)you (C)did,
Was the (G)finest (F)thing that ever (C)happened (F) to me,
You (G)took away the (F)chains from a(C)round (F)my (C)heart,
You (G)cast them a(F)side and (C)set (F)me (C)free,
You (G)took away the (F)black clouds with (C)just (F)one (C)smile,
And (G)you let the (F)sun come (C)shi(F)ning (C)through,
You (G)took away the (F)bad times, with (C)just (F)one (C)kiss,
Yeah you (G)kicked 'em a(F)way, you (C)banished (F)those (C)blues,
(Chorus)
(G)Now (A)I got you, you're (C)everything (Bb)I (G)need,
(G)You took a(F)way the heartache, (C)you're (F)so (G)good for me,
(G)(F)(C)You're (F)so (G)good for me.
You lifted me out of my deepest darkness,
And brought me back into the light,
You brought me out of the depths of despair,
And you gave me fresh life,
You took the sadness out of my life,
You took it and cast it away from me,
You gave me a brand new start,
When you banished my misery......
(Repeat Chorus)
A quick word of explanation..............
I don't usually do happy/love songs, but the Mrs. - Marilyn - has been such a rock and a tower of strength for me over the last couple of weeks or so after my mum died, every time I've been down she's been there for me, every time I couldn't cope she's stepped in for me........
Flowers and stuff seem a bit inadequate, I think I've managed to put a little of what I feel into this - anyway this one's for you, Marilyn....from the heart.........

that's wonderful Vic, it is great to see you writing something happy
I don't really feel like critiquing it, because it's all written in a very fun manner and is heartfelt throughout, I guess I could be a boring guy and grab every rhythm goof, but I'd rather not
great song!
I don't follow my dreams, I just ask em' where they're going and catch up with them later.

Grrr, what rhythm goofs! :)
Trust me on this one, I always find a way to make the words fit the music!
BTW, it's a fairly uptempo rocker, only lasts about 2.20 when I've run through it, maybe I should put my patented 2-string,5-note,3-bend solo between the 4th and 5th lines of the 2nd verse.......

well, who was the bluesman who said to write however it comes out and fit it into place afterwards?

Hey Vic, its a real nice one. Since I too am going through exactly the same phase rite now I can completely relate to this song. Wish I had written it. Cheers man!

Roy Orbison said something very similar.......
