Something I wrote while noodling on some chords. I really like playing it, and i've found that tuning down the E string to D (the bottom-low one) and playing G-D-C-G it works really well (to my ears at least... and the neighbours haven't yelled at me yet either). It is about, for those who are a bit slow, a girl that owns a red car.
Here We Go!!!
The Girl With The Red Car
The guys stand around on the corner
Looking at the traffic,
Although two cars and a chook truck ain't traffic
It's all we got
We hold our beer and talk shit
As a red car flies on by
The boys jump at the sight
And I say she's mine
Lord, I ask as a man of faith
Please let me have to take
The girl with the red car
And you know, the boys say
That she ain't that pretty anyway
They laugh and say
‘You can do better,'
And as we stand on the corner
Watching the sky turn dark
The little red car drives past
And the boys point and laugh
Lord…
There was a time, you know
When I thought twice
About what they said
But then I sipped again
And the corner seems full
As we wait for four o'clock
For that red car to drive by
And now it flies
Lord…
Lord…
There we go.
