If you go to the first page you can enter into the search box "acoustic blues" and you'll get a long list of articles and lessons having to do with that. https://www.guitarnoise.com/forums/posting.php?mode=reply&t=25998 - It shows twenty pages of results.

At http://www.wholenote.com - click on lessons and you'll see them all listed. I count 194 Blues lessons.

That's about it, if you google "acoustic guitar lessons" you get 13 hits. Your mileage may vary.

:idea: You could make a thread titled "Pawn Shop Guitars." 8) The police may let you talk there. I suppose Goodwill guitars could be within a pawn shop guitar thread, I'm not sure. Check it out and see if anyone cares. :lol: :lol:

Technically you're off topic to then. The discussion came up as a result of the trend of the thread. The humor and the 'notice' was uncalled for. Your tone is uncalled for as well.

It's really not worth getting upset over! Yes, at GN we strive to remain on topic as much as is humanly possible, but, being human, we tend to veer off in different directions from time to time. Which is perfectly fine, in it's own right, as long as things don't get out of hand and no one objects and the main topic remains music related.

I can see Dogbite's point. It was HIS post, after all, to find out more about acoustic blues and he has every right to expect it to stay on the topic that he chose. And I offer my apology to Dogbite for my part in allowing it to get off topic.

I can also see your point, Gadlaw. Obviously ... since I was the other participant in allowing it to go off topic (which, as a moderator, I really shouldn't have done, but I was enjoying the conversation)! Some good conversations can come out of a wayward thread!

So, can we get back to the topic of acoustic blues sites? I'll even start a "Goodwill Guitar" thread if it will keep everyone happy!

my concern was to help the poster by finding blues sites.

I too am guilty of straying off topic. geez Im no nazi. (go back to my first reply; like that link is what the poster wanted!) I understand how threads move and expand. most times it is related. anecdotal experiences are quite valid.

the trouble with the typed word is the intent is not always apparent.
the emoticons dont really help either. misunderstandings occur.

There are tons and tons of accoustic blues compilation albums being sold for almost no money at all. Apart from online lessons or finding a blues teacher your best bet is just to listen a truckload to blues music and playing along, copying licks and riffs.
