I've attached a magnetic sound-hole pickup to my acoustic guitar.
I've read that since the pickup works like electric guitars pickup - the high e and b strings will sound louder and brighter, then on normal guitar. Is this true ?. I read some say that in order to minimize this problem - one should use heavy gauage electric guitar strings or the specially made GHS acoustic-electric strings. or put silk&steel strings or just play with the pre-amp settings.
opinions ? tips ?
thanks in advance.

Start off by playing with your settings. It's always better to start with the least expensive solutions first.
