What is the lightest string gauge for acoustic guitars? And will electric strings work?

Lightest bronze wound strings I've seen are 9s. Yes, electric strings will work. You may need to back off the truss rod tension a bit if you go to strings much lighter than the guitar came with. Depending on the guitar, you may find the volume and/or tone of very light strings a bit thin.

I actually love thin acoustic sounds. I find that tone "magically" bell like. I giess ill put some 10's on it and see how it feels. Thanks for great advice!

I've got a dreadnaught with 10s on it, and a parlor guitar with 9s. They both sound great to me. But different folks have different tastes, obviously. :D
