Caution: If putting lotion on your face, don't plan on bending any strings until the lotion wears off your hands.

Unless Kingpatzer can convince the American Dental Association that Jimi was flossing when he did that, I don't think they're gonna like it. "Kids, don't try this at home!" :lol:
I read something a long time ago that said (I think it was) Stephen Stills put barbecue sauce on his strings for a "funkier" (?) tone. Although I was at a much more impressionable age at the time, I never tried it.
On a more serious note, I carry some Purell® hand sanitizing wipes in my gear bag. Not so much because the 62% ethyl alcohol in them is antiseptic, but because it'll "cut" pretty much any greasy stuff that might try to get from my hands onto my guitar. Just the thing for cookouts and other venues with potentially messy foods and minimal cleanup facilities.
