Hi all. I was thinking the other day it would be a very useful tool if i could record some of my practice sessions to run back through and hear my mistakes, and it would also be kinda cool to cut a simple song or two, nothing fancy! Can any of you recommend a simple recording setup a person could use in this manner? I'd like to hear what home recording equipment you guys use, and some advice on how you setup.

this site runs thru all the possibilities of home recording. what you decide on is how much you want to spend.
Audacity is a freeware program that I started out with. I out grew it and now use Cubase with a digital interface, monitors etc.
I am having a blast.
to play guitar direct you need to get into the computer some how. tweakheadz should get you there.
saturnthegiant, what do you play out of now? Do you have a multi-EFX pedal? You might be able to get out of this really cheap-like.

Great for recording, practicing, jamming, looping and slowing down peices to practice to. Filled with pretty decent Boss effects for guitar and vocals.
