I had a physical today and found out that I have some hearing loss
in my left ear! I'm really bummed because I know it's from playing my
super reverb too loud at home in order to get good sustain and dirty
sound. A few months ago I did some home recording with my amp
set at 9 and my monitor headphones on (I know -duh!) Every since,
I've noticed I've had like a spasm/fuzyness in my left hear when I hear
anything over a certain volumn - anyone else experienced anything like
this?

I really like my super reverb, but I think I'm going to sell it and
get something that is less harsh on the ears and breaks up at a
lower volumn.

Can anyone suggest a good home/recording amp for mostly blues
and classic rock? Thanks for your help!

That sucks. I've had that happen to me, though it luckily went away after a few mins. You should see an ear, nose, and throught guy about your hearing. They might be able to tell you more about it, if it's permanant, ect.

You might want to look into a Blues Jr. You might also want to get a Hot Rod Deluxe and couple that with an attentuator. That'll help get you breaking up without having to crank the volume.

And if you're satisfied with your current amp's tone you might just get an attentuator for it and skip a new amp. Just be careful and don't drive your amp with it harder than you normally would at full volume.

Ditto on the Blues Junior and/or the attenuator for your SR.
