can anyone point me in the right direction for playing the lead to this song, its the typical alternating bassline pickin in alot of cash's songs, I believe Carl Perkins played the lead on this one, not sure. Gotta chickadee that is getting pretty good at strummin rythym and we want to give this one a shot w/ me playing my tele.
Thinkin' bout the times we had

nope it wasnt Carl playing with Cash.
it was Luther Perkins. and I am informed there is no relation.
search Google for Luther Perkins, the Tenneesee Two instead of Cash.
your eyes will pop open. an amazing player who really set the standard for the kind of picking your hear.
thanks for the info dog, boom-chicka-boom;)

Ive been down with the killer flu for a week .
Luther is awesome. I am glad you checked him out.. and I hope it helped.
when I had the energy to play while I was down I played some Cash tunes.
Luther's method seems simple, because he practically plays the chord shape notes...
but his style is trickier than it appears.
hand cramps!
