Thanks so much to everyone for your input.

The audition was the annual summer fair gig. It's really just for the appearance and the ticket into the fair.

The judges are from all different backgrounds and usually quite impressive. They give us points. I like to know that I'm improving each year.

Auditions are also habit forming, aren't they?
I've been told to forget the auditions and just focus on recording and getting the bigger acts but somehow I'm pulled back to the same old auditions.

At least everyone knows my face and my name. That can be a good thing or a bad thing depending.

Portamento - The ability to move from a wrong note to the right one without anyone noticing the original mistake.
Harmonics - The buzzing sound that string instruments make.
Impromptu - A carefully worked out composition.
