I have a basement I'm currently finishing and was wondering if anyone had any clever or unique ways to display guitars. My only thought was to build recessed cavities into a wall, paint the interior black, mount a small light in the cavity (maybe on a dimmer switch), and install a glass door on the fron that sits flush with the wall. If anyone has any ideas it would be greatly appreciated.
sounds like a neat idea. I would be ever so careful to insulate against cold and moisture.
if your basement is damp then a dehumdifier is needed. and if the room is too dry humdify.
you can do anything as long as you watch the climate conditions.
now , lets talk about UV and the damage it can do. those small lights use tiny halogen lamps. they output a higher ultraviolet range. some finishes are reactive. so monitor your light usage. you can filter for UV at the light source and have no worries.
