Can anyone help me get the right sound from my amp. I'm trying to play Def Leppard's 'too Late fror Love'. My amp is a Vox AD30VT.

I feel like I'm getting close, but its missing something. I know I need to play around with this thing to learn more about amp effects, etc... but if someone could help me get the sound for this song, I's be a happy guy.

thanks!

I'm not familiar with that song at this moment. You may want think about getting a Equalizer, they can really bring your tone to life. Here's a list of equipment I use and how its set to achieve their highly sought after tone. Perhaps use the effects setting as a starting point and work from there.

Everything is Rack Mounted except the speakers.
First Equalizer: No more than +4db midrange boost
Tube power amp with 8-El84's running at their saturation point into a dummyload,
Second Equalizer: set around 0db across all frequencey's
Analog Effects;
Compressor: drive 78%, output94%, Slope 4:1, Attack 4ms, Release 750ms
Expander: Range 1:3
Distortion: Tube Solid Warm, Drive 96%, Bite 75%, output 78%
Noise gate: Range 53%
Third Equalizer: -6db/40hz, +6db/100hz, +4db/250hz, 0db/640hz, +4db/1.6Khz, +4db/4Khz, -6db/10Khz
AES (Acoustic Envirenment Simulator) Stone ceiling

Digital Effects;
Low Pass: HP Cut 5.01 KHz
Chorus: Type Pre, Width 65%, Speed 0.72Hz, Delay 14ms, Level 75%
Reverb: Type Room-1, Source Pre DDL, Decay 2.6s,Damping 50%,Position 67%, Level 70%
Regen DDL: Delay 360ms, Fine 0, Regen 21%
Level 20%

Output Mix: Digital 62% Analog 75%
Four Equalizer: dual 31 band Alesis, to far to read from here. Adjust as needed.
Amps: Mesa Boogie, Marshall, (with Attenuators), H&H (no Attenuators)
speakers: celestions

Hope it Helps

Joe
