Lately I've been really interested in learning how to capture the sound of eastern music on guitar, much like the way Jimmy Page was able to do it on songs like "Friends" and "Kashmir", or the way Jeff Martin from the Tea Party does it. Does anyone have a good way to study this style of playing?? I heard that Jimmy Page went to india and that's how he got interested in that sort of style, but since i am unable to do that, any ideas? any books?

Hiya,

To capture that Eastern sound well, you'll need some Eastern scales.
