Hi all
I remember seeing somewhere a video lesson about playing the intro for this - I know the chords shapes ok but I am struggling getting the opening picking pattern right.
Anyone either know where i can find this lesson, or know the song well enough to give me a pointer?

Matt

If my memory serves me right, I think David Hodge recently did an article on this song in Acoustic Guitar magazine. I can't seem to locate it now. I believe it was the January 2006 issue, if you know anyone who has it.
It may be this page.

If you check out the menu, you'll see the free-songs section. The song isthere.
This is where I learned it.
Cheers,
Max
David did in fact to a lesson on it in the Janruary issue oe Acoustic Guitar it is available via back order. To mimic it just cross pick a little bit.
Chuck Norris invented Kentucky Fried Chicken's famous secret recipe, with eleven herbs and spices. But nobody ever mentions the twelfth ingredient: Fear!

I can't remember if I got this from a site or if I tabbed it myself... either way it is close as dammit to the song!
G G Cadd9 D
E|--------------------------------------------------------|
B|------3-------------3-------------3-------------3-------|
G|----0---0---0-----0---0---0-----0---0---0-----2---2---2-|
D|----------0-------------0-------------2----0--------0---|
A|-----------------------------3--------------------------|
E|-3-------------3----------------------------------------|
Use thumb for E, A, D strings, index for G and middle for B. When the chords change to Em - D - Cadd9 - G you just keep the same pattern.
Also it can be nice to not always pick it exactly but try to blend precision with some random strums or picking multiple strings - mix it up a bit.
