Help in finding a certain type of jazz

I was walking around manhattan one week, and I came across this band performing on the street. They were playing some type of jazz. They had a drummer, a guitarist, and, the lead instrument, the trumpet. They were playing some fast jazz beat with the trumpeter soloing over it. It sounded amazing. They were selling their CD, but I didn't have enough money, and i'm regretting that now.

I'm wondering if anyone can lead me to a "type" of jazz, or a group that plays similiar upbeat, fast jazz, but with only those 3 instruments. Any bands that play somehting similiar would work also.
