It seems like it used to be tighter, and sat right where it usually is used, but now it hangs down and is really loose. I never really had a problem with it until I saw Jeff Beck at a youtube.com performance where his whammy bar was tight. Hopefully you guys know what I mean. Thanks.

my whammy bar screws in. try giving your a few turns. righty tighty
Common trick for floppy screw-in type Strat whammy bars: unscrew it and remove it. Drop into the hole a spring from a retractable ball point pen. Put the bar back into the hole and tighten as needed.

You let out the secret. Many a tech have charged $20 for that trick.
Wow, that's awesome. I mean, I guess I don't mind it hanging down. I did realize that whammy bars screwed in, its just that it's not tight, if I screw it to where it gets tight it's unusable, because the bar is sticking straight up. Anyhow, thanks.

Well, I've had some requests, but I'm going to play anyway.
get a roll of Teflon tape. plumbers use it to wrap threads.
I put a wrap or two around the threaded part of my strat's whammy bar.
it stays exactly where you want it.
when the tape wears out. replace.
cheap and efficient.
