Hello, I just bought a Dimarzio Virtual Vintage blues pickup for my strat because I heard good things about it. I wanted to keep the classic strat tone and get rid of hum... but, after installing the pickup I realize that it really isn't possible. I was quite dissappointed with the loss of highs with dimarzios. Anyways, I plan to just use it in single coil mode, but I have a question on how to achieve that goal. I assume all I have to do is remove the series connection (disjoin the black and white wires) to have it in single coil mode, would this be correct? if not, any help on how to remove the hum-cancelling (or should i say tone-cancelling) from the pickup would be greatly appreciated. thank you.

anyways, for anyone that wants to know the solution... just ground the black wire, assuming red wire is hot
