Hey,
Any of you guys know of some really good sounding finger or hybrid pick songs?
Songs like
White Lion - When the children cry
Kansas - Dust in the Wind
Eric Clapton - Tears in Heaven
The Who - Pinball Wizard
Heart - Crazy on you
Metallica - Nothing else matters
The Eagles - Hotel California
Metallica - Unforgiven
Firehouse - Season of change
Firehouse - Love of a life time
Those are just a few.. But I've been looking around for songs to just pluck out on the ole' acoustic.
I want them to be pretty and challenging and...fun to play. I know I ain't heard 'em all..
and don't get on here saying "Led Zepplin - Stairway to Heaven"......please...

"Don't wanna ride no shootin' star. Just wanna play on the rhythm guitar." Emmylou Harris, "Rhythm Guitar" from "The Ballad of Sally Rose"
'embryo' is short, almost renaissance, sounding hybrid picked instrumental by Black Sabbath's Tony Iommi. Its really cool n easy to play.
For something more challenging try Classical Gas by Maison Williams or Comming Bach by Yngwie Malmsteen.
I liked that 'Embryo'
I'm fixing to check out the rest of what you all have showed me .
But...is that ALL? I mean c'mon...There has to be more out there!!

Doves' 'A House' is my favourite for this style... it's beautiful but obscure
lol OKay, I just didnt think you wanted to be bombarded. Check out these:
Orchid - Black Sabbath/Tony Iommi
Goodbye to Romance - Ozzy Osbourne
Babe I'm Gonna leave You - Led Zeppelin
Day at the Beach - Joe Satriani (Okay so its not finger picking, but its all finger tapping)
Hybrid picking favorites:
"Honky Tonk Women", Stones
"Well, Well, Well," Lennon
Lots of rockabilly solos are hybrid picking --
"All My Loving", Beatles
"Everybody's Trying to Be My Baby", Carl Perkins
"Honey Don't", Carl Perkins
"Mystery Train"
A favorite for fingerpicking:
"Blackbird", McCartney
Well we all shine on--like the moon and the stars and the sun.
-- John Lennon
If you're stuck within anything in particular to play, or are just generally bored with what you've been playing, try a challanging tune from a style you wouldn't normally play, or if that fails, anything spanish. There is an endless array of spanish tunes, almost all of them sound good, most of them are fingerstyle, and eventually you'll find yourself with a huge backlog of the stuff you listen to more often which you want to learn.
